MARBELLA:

Do you like beer? If so, October is your month! Marbella is celebrating its own Oktoberfest. This event will take place from September 27th to the 3rd of October from 12 am to 12 pm. Live music, traditional food and beer will be the main characters of this event in Marbella.  The festival will be celebrated in “Parque de la Constitución” and the entrance is completely free of charge.

If you fancy some rhythm, the Marbepop festival will be celebrated on the 6th of October in “Parque de la Represa”. This 12h long festival congregates around 3000 people each year. It offers live alternative music concerts, craftshops, and even a “circus” for the youngest of the house. All music styles will be present in this event, from soul to hip hop or pop. Don’t miss it!, Free entrance from 13.00 until midnight.

Sport lovers, save the date! The Andalucia Half-Marathon Championship will be held on the 6th of October. Everybody is welcome to join the 21km urban race that will start at 19.30 until 23.00. If you prefer shorter distances, they also offer a 10km race. For registration visit the Marbella Townhall website.

The Fair of San Pedro takes place between 16th to 21th October. During these days the Fiesta takes the streets: Flamenco shows, Sangria and Tapas. People dress up with their traditional costumes with colorful designs that will catch your eye. This event in Marbella has an extensive program of activities for children and adults. Concerts, fair attractions, typical food and traditional Andalusian music. All settled for a perfect evening! Just go to the Center of San Pedro!

If you have never been in a Verbena, from the 5th until the 7th of october you have the opportunity to do so in the barriada de El ángel. These events are like a small-scale fair. They have traditional music, food, attractions, fireworks horses and even a popular paella. Perfect to enjoy with children! It takes place in the neighborhood of el Angel, close to Nueva Andalucia in Marbella.

If you are looking for street markets, every Monday in the neighborhood of Las Albarizas is celebrated an open-air market with more than 360 stalls with all kinds of products, from local fruits to handicrafts. On Saturdays you can also attend a market focused on crafts and textiles in Nueva Andalucia, next to Centro Plaza. Sundays the Crafts Markets takes place in the Sports harbour of Marbella, next to the Paseo Marítimo. It starts at 11 until sundown. There are many craftshops, animations, expositions, or even books exchanges!

Halloween is becoming very popular in the Costa Del Sol, and all bars and pubs celebrate costume parties. Let your darkest side out and go to the city center on the night of October 31st!

On the 31st of October and 1st of November it is very common in Malaga to celebrate “El Toston”. Families go to the countryside to collect chestnuts and roast them during the evening. Enjoy a nice family day out of the city hustle!

FUENGIROLA:

The feria del Rosario of Fuengirola is celebrated from the 6th to the 12th of October. Dancing, traditional flamenco singers, and equestrian exhibitions. Is an event for the whole family as there will be booth with modern music, a 3rd age booth and a lot of games and animation for kids as well. Everybody is welcome!

BENAHAVIS:

The Romeria Virgen del Rosario in Benahavis takes place each year on the October 7 at La Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the Patron Saint of Benahavis. A pilgrimage by foot or carriage is made by locals to the Ermita with a local fiesta taking place after a mass at private and local tents set up where people may gather to eat, drink, dance and basically be merry. Come and enjoy some free Churros con Chocolate & fun family games!
