Spain is Europe’s most popular destination for holiday rental, ahead of countries like England, Italy and France, and second in the world behind the United States. Thus, Spain represents one fifth of world demand and 40% of Europe.
These are data from a study by Niumba and TripAdvisor indicating that Andalusia, Valencia and Catalonia are the Spanish regions with the highest demand registered for holiday rentals. These are followed by the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Murcia.
Meanwhile, over 90% of total demand recorded this year in Spain comes from European tourists, of which 60% are Spanish. This means that older applicants for vacation rental are the Spaniards themselves, followed by tourists from England and France.
According to data compiled by holiday-Spain, company that manages properties, reservation requests to rent a house in Spain for 2016 have increased by 26% in the first nine months of the year compared to the same period last year.
Five Spanish regions have concentrated more than 80% of domestic demand for rental holiday this summer. According to a study, areas most demanded by Spanish holidays have been Andalusia, Valencia, Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Canary Islands.
