According to statistics of the Ministry of Development, Malaga and Marbella remain the two municipalities where property sales are still growing, getting one of the best results, in terms of figures, since 2008.
Malaga registered a total of 3,491 sales in the first 9 months of 2015, going up 28%, while in Marbella the figure is 3,326 with a rise of 18.6%. Improvement was noticed in other municipalities too: in Mijas, they sold 1,710, + 5.2%, while in Benalmádena 1,390 homes were sold, a 0.3% increase. Estepona is the only town that has seen a small decrease, as 1,474 properties were sold, registering a -1.9% against last year.
The data provided by the Ministry of Development confirms that foreign buyers currently are the most involved in real estate transactions, mainly due to the appeal of Costa del Sol among other touristic residential areas.
During the first three quarters of the year, foreigners (residents and nonresidents) bought about 7,500 homes in Malaga area.
Undoubtedly Costa del Sol, with Malaga and Marbella at the top, are preferred for those seeking a home in one of the places with the best climate in the world.
