The Marbella Ironman seems to be “The big event” of the 2018. The city has been chosen to host one of the hardest sports events of the moment: An Ironman 70.3.
Thanks to the geographical layout of this small paradise on the Costa del Sol, its wide beaches, the warm waters of the Mediterranean and the mountains on the back of the city, Marbella is the idyllic city for this event, suitable only for the most intrepid ones.
With this event, the arrival of thousands of Triathletes is expected. The fomenting of the already growing “Active Tourism” on the Costa del Sol only confirms that Marbella is a city with a great diversity and leisure with a booming economy.
This new event that will take place on April 29, 2018, and will set a precedent for the city, which already plans further editions.

All participants will find a wide range of activities in the region and a perfect climate to make the most of their stay.
Athletes will swim in the Mediterranean waters. After the transition, located in the legendary Avenida de las Naciones Unidas, they will cycle the 90 km of the bike course through memorable settings like Puerto de Ojén, ascending along the “caracolillos” road. They will cross different towns like Onda, Coín, and Cártama. Athletes will then ride back to Marbella to enjoy the last 21 km run by the seafront promenade, flanked by cheering spectators as they strive for the finish line – right on the sand of Puerto Banús.
